PREHEATING THE DRYER AIR OF A PRINTING PRESS
POSTER PRINTING SCHWAB OFFSET, HAINBURG
High energy costs caused by the printing press are to be reduced: The drying process of ink on the printed paper sheet is largely carried out with hot air. This is generated by drawing in the room temperature of 20 °C and heating it to the desired temperature of 90-110 °C using an electric heating element.
If the waste heat from the air compressors is now stored and fed to the press, it can be used for the drying process. Our highly efficient system uses the waste heat from the compressed air compressor to heat the room air in the supply line to 75-80 °C by means of a heating coil, which represents an enormous energy saving.
Technical data
- Preheating of the thermal hot air of a large-format printing press
- Waste heat from the air compressor max. 40-60 kW
- Preheating of the hot air with conventional heating elements 40 kW
- Preheating of hot air by waste heat up to 80 °C
Result
Energy savings of primary energy of up to 20,000 € per year
