PRODUCTION LINE COOLING
CAN PRODUCTION SONOCO, HOCKENHEIM
The mandrel of a paper winding machine is temperature-controlled and kept at a constant temperature of +/-1 K. The temperature of the cooling medium is monitored. The pressure and flow of the cooling medium are monitored. The cooling requirement for the individual lines is automatic. When switched off, the machines are pressure-free and protected against leakage. The coolant is supplied via a frequency-controlled pump.
The key to the energy efficiency of the plant is the cooling machine, which is operated predominantly via the “free cooling” function. This means that the medium can be cooled purely via the circulating air without active chillers, as long as the outside temperatures are below 14 °C. Compared to conventional cooling systems, we thus achieve energy savings of up to 80 %.
Technical data
- Cooling capacity of the machines max. 55 kW
- Currently there are 8 lines on the system
- Max. Expansion stage up to 14 lines
- Flow temperature 20 °C
Result
Energy savings of up to 4,500 € per year
