Heat recovery from the recirculating cooling system
Printing company Zipperlen, Dornstadt
The print shop is planning an extension and the purchase of a new printing press. Our recooling system is used to cool the press. 35-40 % of the connected power of a printing press is dissipated from the pressroom via a recooling system. We have installed a system that captures this waste heat, stores it and returns it to the room via air heating coils. With this system, the print shop does not need any additional heating for the extension and can even heat the finishing area as well.
Technical data
- Waste heat output from the recooling system max. 50 kW
- Heidelberg XL 75-5+P-LX printing press
- Production area approx. 700 m²
- Flow temperature 35-40 °C
Result
- Extension is heated entirely by using waste process heat
- Energy savings of € 2,600 and reduction of 12 tons of CO² per year
